Now more than ever people are turning to the internet to find typing work that they can do from home. With the growth of the internet has come a growth in what the industry sometimes terms, new media jobs. This cover a whole range of different types of work but there is something they all have in common and that is typing.

As the internet grows more and more content is being created and all of this content has to be typed by someone. So if you can type then you will find that there are many different types of working from home typing jobs that you could do. This type of work is different from the offline world, that's the real world to you and me or as many geeks unpleasantly refer to as meat space.

The internet typing economy

As the internet world of work and the real world of work are so different there are a few things you need to be made aware of. First of most internet work is on a self employed or casual basis, there are relatively few conventional jobs. There are however many opportunities for you to do freelance work, that means that rather than working for one individual or company you will do work on a job by job basis.

This may mean that you could write some articles for one person which may take a day. You may also spend an hour a day completing surveys and the odd afternoon on some mystery shopping work. The next week someone may contact you to do some research to find some information or to spread the word about a new site or product. You get the picture, lots of small jobs rather than a daily fixed routine.

So what about the scams? You may read lots of ads about you making thousands working part time from home. Whilst it is possible to do this not everyone is going to be able to make thousands. Many of these opportunities will ask for money up front and you will not really understand what the opportunity is that you are paying for and have even less of an idea of what is involved.

If you are asked to pay money up front do not do so unless you are fully aware of how you are expected to make money online and any other expenses you would be expected to incur. Many of these work from home jobs are too complex for the complete beginner. Many can involve large expenses that are not properly explained in the advert. Do not let this put you off as there are many high earning opportunities available, just make sure you are aware of what is involved and how much it is really going to cost.
