If you seriously want to pursue this type of work you could telephone your local direct mailing or direct marketing companies local to you. Sometimes they may have some work that they cannot put through the machines and so it has to be done by hand.

This type of work will be infrequent and most local firms will want you to work from their offices. You could however ask them if they would be willing for you to collect a load of envelopes, do them at home and drop them back when finished. You will have to promise to get the work done by a certain time as the companies will need to meet tight deadlines and postal collection times.
