I am often asked if it is possible to earn money working from home. Well to answer your question, yes you can. You should really be asking what work at home jobs you can, how many hours you can work and how much you will be earning are what you really want to know.

What are work at home jobs

Most work at home jobs require you to have a home computer and an internet connection. You don't need a brand new top of the range computer, far from it. I brought my computer second hand off of eBay for about a hundred dollars, in fact it's the one I am using to type this.

The second requirement is an internet connection. You really need a broadband connection but you can get by with a dial up connection to start with. A broadband connection will give the speed to get things done and on the whole isn't that expensive. Don't forget these are both legitimate business expenses.

How many hours do you need to work

There are many opportunities available to the home worker and because you are working from home they are more flexible. Most are the sort of jobs you can do whilst looking after the kids. It really depends on the amount of hours you want to put in. Most jobs are flexible enough for you to be able to do more hours one week then fewer the next.

As you already have a computer there is nothing stopping you from having more than one job, in fact the more different streams of work you have the more stable your income will be. If work dries up in one area the other streams can take up the slack.

How much can you earn working from home

I think you already know the answer to this, every circumstance is going to be different. You can't expect to earn the same as someone else do 5 times as many hours as you. You can however realistically expect about the hundred dollar a day figure working part time. This figure can exceed a thousand dollars a day, but don't expect that straight away. Out of 5 internet friends one is earning close to $1000 although she is a very busy lady. Conversely a friend who has just started is getting about $300 a week, whilst it's not brilliant it's a good start.
