Work From Home Typing Scams

One of my pet peeves is the number of scams that are floating around the internet, work from home typing scams come in a number of different flavours. The end result of every type of scam is that you end up out of pocket or even worse, in jail.

Sounds shocking I know but you can save yourself a whole lot of hassle, wasted time and of course your cash by following a few simple steps. Now before you get disheartened and give up on the idea of a work from home typing career just keep in mind that in the UK work at home mums and dads are one of the few sectors of the economy that are actually growing. This does cover a diverse range of types of work but nonetheless much of it is primarily computer based involving some sort of typing.

Typing scams to avoid

So to start with the most serious of scams, I say serious as you can actually end up in prison if you get caught up in this scam. Luckily this scam is pretty easy to avoid as it often sounds too good to be true.

You may find a job advert that claims to offer a position of a processor, managers or agent, often saying that you require no previous experience. The actual job entails you transferring money through your bank account. It certainly sounds dodgy when it is explained like this but the scammers dress it up as a real job with a few more steps involved.

In essence however you end up being a money mule and laundering money. This is illegal and if you take part in this activity whether knowingly or not you will end up with a prison sentence. If it sounds too good to be true and involves you receiving and passing on goods or money then avoid at all costs and report them to the appropriate authorities.

So now for the more common work from home typing scams. The typical scam is the straight forward fake job scam, this is where you see an ad which is supposedly for a typing job or similar type of work or at least that is what they are insinuating in the ad. They may mention large well known companies to make themselves seem more legitimate. However the end result is that they want money from you.

This type of scam is easy to avoid, if they are asking for money no matter how it is dressed up or how legitimate it may seem do not give them your cash. There is no job and there is no work. You should never have to pay to do a job, it sounds obvious when you say it out loud but these ads can be pretty convincing and every day hundreds of people hand over their money.
